Oglethorpe’s campus is experiencing an unprecedented era of growth and progress. And there’s no end in sight.
Oglethorpe continues to upgrade its facilities to improve the academic experience and campus life for its growing community.
Current projects include:
- Addition of the ADA-compliant Woodland Walk connecting the academic quad to the Turner Lynch Campus Center and residence halls
- Addition of acrylic partitions in classrooms, labs and transactional areas on campus in preparation for in-person classes
Oglethorpe’s most recent completed projects include:
- Goodman Hall converted from office space to residential housing, accommodating up to 50 students (2020)
- Practice rooms for Music students in the basement of Lupton Hall (2020)
- I.W. “Ike” Cousins Center for Science and Innovation (2019)
- Q. William Hammack, Jr. School of Business (2019)
- New upgraded, professional-quality wood flooring in Schmidt Recreation Center gym (2019)
- The International Study Center for international students (2018)
- Gables Brookhaven, a 374-unit residential complex with 6 state-of-the-art classrooms (2015)
- Addition of a new “blacktop” court in the Dorough Field House (2015)
- The award-winning Turner Lynch Campus Center (2013)
- The Atlanta Laboratory for Learning (A_LAB), an incubator that combines theory and practice via experiential learning opportunities (internships, study abroad, volunteering, and undergraduate research) (2013)
- A partnership venture with LeadAbroad that expanded Oglethorpe’s global footprint via 4 global campuses in Barcelona, Cape Town, Greece and Rome
- A renovation of the garden level of Hearst Hall to create a home for The Piedmont School of Atlanta
- The Reiser Scene Shop for Oglethorpe’s Theatre program (2012)
- A modernized track and field
- New campus signage
- Renovations of the Great Hall of Hearst, the Office of Admission, and Traer Residence Hall
